Tim Theroff, Republican, has announced his intention to file candidacy for the position of Cole County Assessor. With his deep ties to the area, extensive experience as a real estate appraiser, and a commendable track record of community service, Theroff brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication along with conservative values that make him an ideal candidate for this crucial office.
Theroff's journey is a testament to his commitment to the Cole County community. Born and raised in Jefferson City, he graduated in 1988 from Jefferson City Senior High, where he was active in his school and church. Furthering his education, he attended Westminster College on a basketball scholarship. After college he became a licensed real estate appraiser and worked in the industry for 25 years.
With a quarter century of experience as a real estate appraiser, Theroff has gained extensive knowledge of the central Missouri property market. His expertise in valuing real estate, coupled with an inherent understanding of the area, positions Theroff as an invaluable asset in the role of Cole County Assessor.
Theroff currently serves as the general manager of the not-for-profit Riverview Cemetery Association. That position has provided him with hands-on experience in managing operations, ensuring accountability, and striving for the highest standards of professionalism. Those skills will undoubtedly translate into a successful tenure as Cole County Assessor.
“This job requires a unique skill set, and I think my experience fits it well,” said Theroff. “The people of Cole County deserve a well-informed Assessor who strives to be fair and accurate.” Theroff commented that along with his knowledge in valuing real estate, he also has experience managing businesses and employees. “Our appraisal firm was widely respected in this area. We had a long-tenured team that had a deep understanding of this market.”
Theroff's personal ties to the area are deeply rooted, as he resides on the family farm in Stringtown. He cherishes the values instilled by his upbringing and understands the unique needs and challenges faced by the community he hopes to serve with insightfulness and a forward-thinking approach.
